On 02.11.2022, the financial director of the Center for Change Management (CCM) Vesna Bochvarska participated in the coordination meeting of representatives of the civil sector in the Republic of North Macedonia (RNM) with representatives of the Secretariat for European Affairs (SEA). The meeting referred to the future cooperation between the RNM Government and civil society organizations in the process of negotiations for integration into the European Union.

The coordination meeting was attended by the deputy chief negotiator of North Macedonia with the EU and state secretary, Mrs. Drita Abiu-Halili, together with the Croatian expert on European integration engaged through the Nordic support, Mr. Vladimir Drobniak.

- The participation of the civil sector in the process of the country's integration into the EU is extremely important, especially in the field of necessary expertise in various chapters and areas. The real partnership and communication between the Government and all social stakeholders is key to achieving the goals of our country's membership in the European Union, noted Abdiu-Khalili.

Regarding the modality or form of civil sector involvement in the country's EU membership process, she said that it will be decided jointly, always keeping in mind the general interest and the construction of a functional structure that will contribute to the efficiency of the process.

- We need to prepare both for participation and for greater utilization and absorption of EU funds. This is particularly important in order to achieve the strengthening of the capacities of civil society organizations for the use of EU funds dedicated to civil society, and especially from the aspect of improving the partnership and cooperation between the state and the civil sector in this area, indicated the deputy chief negotiator of Severna Macedonia with the EU, Abdiu-Khalili.
