The methodology for the regulation impact assessement (hereinafter: RIA) is fully harmonized with the existing system for strategic planning in the ministries and procedures for policy coordination and decision making in the Government of the Republic of Macedonia and is an upgrade of existing practices introduced in 2009 , which are also in line with the positive experiences from the practice in the European Union and its member states, as well as the OECD member states. RIA is used as a tool to determine the impacts that will be caused by the implementation of the transposed legal act. By starting the process of negotiations for accession of the Republic of Macedonia to the European Union, the process of the Ministry of Interior will become even more important because it can be used to determine the short-term and long-term effects of the European Union legal acts on the national legal system and acceptance. of the obligations arising from them. In that way, it will be possible to build the national positions in the negotiation process and to determine and reduce the possible negative impacts for the Republic of Macedonia.
