Within the framework of the USAID's Partnership Against Corruption Activity project, and in cooperation with the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption, on 09.10.2024, the CCM team presented the findings of the research on the (mis)use of discretionary powers by the public administration. as well as the specific findings for the public health sector, in front of representatives from the central institutions of the public sector from different areas. Specifically, the research focuses on the procedures for employment in the public administration, the appointment of senior management structures, the procedures for employment in public health as well as the procedures for providing services in the field of public health.
The findings of the research indicate the real risk of corruption in cases of abuse of discretionary powers, and the recommendations refer to specific solutions through which the risk of corruption can be effectively reduced in the state administration bodies as well as institutions from the specific public health sector.
The project advocates for strengthening the knowledge of officials for the correct application of discretionary powers, with the aim of reducing corruption and guaranteeing the legal security of citizens.
