On 22.11.2023, we held an event with representatives from the central institutions in the country where we presented the values of public administration and the new method for monitoring the implementation of public policies by the institutions.
The Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Skopje H.E. Matthew Lawson recalled the importance of good leaders in institutions who should first live and promote the values of good democratic governance through their work. He also added that effective accountability for work is key to accountability. In the end, the Ambassador said - "I believe that this project will really help the public sector in RNM to achieve these goals".
Deputy Prime Minister Slavica Grkovska said that this is a very important project for our country and that the new policy monitoring method will help the institutions to function much more easily and efficiently. He also emphasized that the Citizen is at the center of democratic societies, which implies the consistent fulfillment of the programs, for which the citizens gave their trust in the elections.
The executive director of CCM, Neda Maleska Sachmaroska, emphasized that our country does not have a good policy monitoring system and therefore there is no result and responsibility for the non-fulfillment of the same. He added that the new policy monitoring method, which we developed together with the institutions, enables easy monitoring and determination of the degree of realization of the programs and priorities of the institutions.
The program coordinator of CUP Iskra Belcheva Ristovska presented to the attendees the values and standards of public administration that CUP prepared, under the slogan "Governance for citizens".
CCM tested the new policy monitoring method in three sectors (economic development, public administration and agriculture) and presented it to the attendees. Experts in the respective fields worked intensively on testing the new method and had the opportunity to address the audience.
In the next period, we will publish more information regarding the values of public administration and the new method for monitoring the implementation of public policies.
The project "Rethinking Management" is funded by UK International Development by the Government of the United Kingdom through the British Embassy Skopje and is implemented by the Center for Change Management (CCM) in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia
