On 12 and 13 May, a workshop “Advancing Parliamentary Ethical Standards and Integrity – Development of the Code of Ethics of the Assembly” was held in Veles and attended by the Executive Director of CCM Neda Maleska Sacmaroska and the Project Coordinator at CCM Branka Mincheva Kocevska.
The workshop was organized by the OSCE Mission to Skopje, in cooperation with the ODIHR and the Parliamentary Support Programme.
The workshop was attended by members of parliament and parliamentary staff, members of the working group for the advancement of the Code of Ethics, who actively contributed to the process of reviewing and revising the draft version of the document.
Through interactive work in groups, amendments and additions to the text were proposed, aimed at clearly defining the ethical principles, establishing mechanisms for respecting the Code, as well as strengthening the transparency and accountability of members of parliament.
At the end of the workshop, the next steps towards finalizing and adopting the Code of Ethics were determined, including conducting additional consultations, a final revision and initiating a procedure for its official adoption in the Assembly.
This activity is part of broader efforts to build an integrity, accountable and ethically oriented parliamentary institution.
