This handbook is a tool that should serve readers, namely journalism students, NGOs, and professional journalists, who, with its help, have the opportunity to become acquainted with the legal standards of freedom of expression. Additionally, the manual should be used as a tool in the training of journalism students and young journalists in our country. In general, the initiative to write such a manual stems from the need to provide a qualified environment for investigative journalism based on universally accepted standards. The Manual contains a concise and summarized review of the legal standards established so far and the case law in the protection of freedom of expression, especially on European soil. It includes the main international and domestic legal norms in this area, and special attention is paid to the criteria of the European Convention on Human Rights.
