Mentorship manual

year: 2019

The mentoring program includes the transfer of knowledge, support, guidance and advice to SMEs, which should contribute to improving their competitiveness by introducing certain standards of performance. Mentoring will be delivered in the form of assistance to implement the required standard, conducted through consulting days delivered by the Mentor (consulting firm, expert) to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) subject to mentoring. Mentoring can also be implemented by multinational companies, based on this program, depending on the interest and affinities of SMEs. An important point is the expertise and experience that can bring a different perspective to the mentee company. Mentoring can be a very effective method of transferring expertise and skills within SMEs. The benefits of the mentoring program include the following elements: • increased understanding of the importance and benefits of introducing standards into the work of SMEs; • developing a structured process by which certain standards will become an integral part of all stages of a company's operations; • Evaluating evidence-based company progress; • improved strategic business initiatives; • improved productivity; • Increasing the transfer of knowledge from downloaded information to practical transfer and recommendation of work; • Critical feedback on key areas, such as communications, interpersonal relationships, technical skills, change management and leadership skills; • acquiring specific skills and knowledge relevant to personal goals; • access to an experienced consultant who can share frustrations as well as successes; • a better understanding of overheads and cost structures.
