A public debate on servise provision by the local self-governments was held in Strumica, where the research of the Center for Change Management resulting from monitoring the local self-governments was presented. The focus of the event was the results of the monitoring of the local self-governments from the southeast region on service provision, which was conducted by the civil society organisations Planetum and Novus from Strumica.
Representatives of local self-governments and civil society organisations from the region participated on the public debate.
The public debate was organized within the project "Monitoring Principles of Public Administration in Preserving Good Governance Values", funded by the European Union, and implemented by the Center for Change Management, in partnership with Management Consulting Agency MCA-2000 and the Center for investigative journalism SCOOP.
The project focuses on developing good governance standrds in the local self-government units, by adjusting the EU benchmarks set in the SIGMA's Principles of Public Administration. Based on these standards, local civil society organisations monitor the work of local self-governments in 5 areas: policy and strategy creation and coordination, management of human resources, transparency and accountability, service provision and management of municipal finances.
