The purpose of this policy brief is to give policy makers recommendations to implement appropriate measures and strategies to encourage domestic SMEs to increase their competitiveness and enter the supply chain of multinational companies (MNC). Policy makers must improve the overall economic environment and provide a healthy business climate for businesses in the country. This brief report further gives recommendations to domestic SMEs to invest in standardization and technology, as well as in increasing production efficiency and production quality. In addition, MNCs need to redefine their public procurement policies and engage in mentoring programs with domestic SMEs as well as support them to invest in innovative production.
