The application of the principles of good governance and the achievement of high professional standards in the work of institutions from the public sector is the goal of every reform of the public administration. Creating efficient institutions means better practices in the management of institutions, including taking measures to improve the accountability of institutions and implementing reforms with achievable and precise results.
The institutions of the Government in the Republic of North Macedonia recognize the reform of the public administration as a priority for building efficient institutions at the service of the citizens, which is why the reform is a high priority in every government set. This attitude towards the reform is encouraged by the highlighting of its importance by the European Commission and SIGMA (the joint initiative for the EU and the OECD) in their evaluations and recommendations.
No major changes were made in this area during the mandate of the previous Government, but it prepared new proposals for three key laws:
1. Law on Public Sector Employees
2. Law on administrative officers
3. Law on professional development and training of administrative officials
