The Ministry of information society and administration, in cooperation with the Center for change management, as part of the project “Support for the process of reforms in the public administration”, financed by the British Embassy in Skopje, held a workshop of the working group for preparation of the National strategy for open data.
The basic goal of this strategy is improvement of the transparency and accountability of the state institutions through the improvement of the open data policies.
The working group is comprised of representatives of the state institutions, CSO’s, private and academic sector and it also includes local experts.
The process of preparation of the open data strategy will also include the renowned international expert from Great Britain, Mr. Andrew Stott, as one of the pioneers in the field of open data.
The workshop was focused on the key elements of the strategic document, such as the vision of the strategy, its main goals, the problems in the field of open data, as well as the measures and activities that should be implemented.
The strategy should define the basic strategic direction for development of the environment for open data, including the process for identifying the data in the institutions, based on the criteria for selection of data and information that can be published in open format, the process of digitalization of the paper data, the improvement of process of publishing of data on the central website by the state institutions, the improvement of the process of publishing of the data on the central website by the state institutions and stimulation of a higher degree of usage of the government open data.
