The Mayor of the Municipality Gjorche Petrov, Aleksandar Naumoski and the executive director of the Center for change management, Neda Maleska – Sachmaroska, signed the memorandum for cooperation in the project “My money, my responsibility: the participative management of the budget of the municipalities in the Republic of Macedonia”, which is supported by the USAID and is being implemented by the network of the civil society organizations FISCAST and will run until May 2020.

With the signing of the memorandum, the municipality Gjorche Petrov confirms its commitment to the importance of the inclusion of the citizens and the CSO’s in the management of the budget resources, the fiscal transparency, as well as the decision making process on a local level through the promotion of the principles of open partnership with the local self-government.

In accordance with the signed memorandum, the municipality of Gjorche Petrov and the Center for change management, together will undertake a number of activities which will contribute for the improvement of the transparency and the accountability of the public institutions and will strengthen the integrity of the local self-government.

These activities include:

• Meetings and consultations between the partners and all relevant participants on the territory of the Gjorche Petrov municipality
• Training in participative budgeting for the employees and other relevant parties from the Gjorche Petrov municipality
• Meeting for identifying of the priorities and usage of funds in the Gjorche Petrov municipality
• Public campaign for raising of the awareness concerning the gains from the participation of the citizens in the budget management.
• Preparation and realization of the forum for the participative budgeting in the municipality of Gjorche Petrov.
