Training - Evidence based policy making

Date: 29.11.2015

The program consists of several sequential and interrelated activities, intended to equip CSO representatives with critical knowledge and skills, in order to act as supervisory bodies and regulatory indicators within the processes of policy and legislative proposals preparation, by using ex ante and ex post evaluation mechanisms, methods and tools.

At the very beginning, the training aimed at raising awareness regarding the possibility of CSOs to actively participate in decision and policy-making processes. During the training, participants practically covered all stages of policy-making processes, such as: creating a vision for change and carrying solutions, evidence based policy analysis, defining policy scenarios, decision-making criteria, risk management, methods and techniques for policy evaluation. One day of the training was dedicated to understanding external factor analysis, known as PESTLE:  political, economic, social, legal and technological impacts on a relevant case study. Accordingly, participants were considering the possible risks and strategies for overcoming them, generating options and scenarios, establishing criteria for decision making, sorting and evaluating the leading options.

As a result of the CSOs joint work, the policy issues that have appeared reflect the current situation, as well as, the economic and political developments in the country.

The training was held by Neda Maleska Sacmaroska and Natalia Shikova.
