On January 30 and 31, 2025, a two-day training on the topic "Leadership in Action" was held at the Thessaloniki-Skopje Hotel, in which young people from North Macedonia, Albania, Italy and Kosovo participated.
The first day of the training focused on the basic phenomenological characteristics of leadership, such as the conceptual definition, types and types of leadership, characteristics of leadership, especially the characteristics of leadership within the state and political system. In the second part, the principles of good governance and the principles of public administration of SIGMA-OECD were presented, as key prerequisites for leadership that delivers results and services to citizens. The third part was dedicated to advocacy in decision-making processes within institutions. The sessions on the first day were facilitated by Iskra Belcheva Ristovska and Dimitar Vrglevski from the Center for Change Management in Skopje, as well as Nevila Sokoli Xindi from the Center for Comparative and International Studies in Tirana.
The second day of the training focused on leadership at the international level as well as leadership in times of conflict. In the first part, the participants were introduced to the concepts of supranational and transnational governance, leadership within these structures, as well as their influence on nation states. The second part focused on leadership in conflict situations and through interactive exercises, the participants were introduced to the types of conflicts and methods for their resolution in democratic systems. The sessions on the first day were facilitated by Natalija Šikova from the International Balkan University in Skopje and Marko Danailovski from the Center for Change Management in Skopje.
The "Leadership in Action" training is organized within the framework of the "Y-O Model" project, which is supported by the European Union, and implemented by the following four civil society organizations: Mediteranean Center (Tirana, Albania), Center for Comparative and International Studies-CCIS (Tirana, Albania), Center for Change Management-CCM (Skopje, North Macedonia) EU Relations-GEIE (Campobaso Italy), Institute for Development Policy-INDEP (Prishtina, Kosovo).
