By the organization of Center for Change Management and the Institute for Human Rights, a two-day training on investigative journalism was held on the 19th and 20th of October at the Faculty of Law at the University "Goce Delchev" in Stip.
At the training 35 students of journalism from Universities "Cyril and Methodius" from Skopje and "Goce Delcev" from Stip attended.
The first day’s lecture was on: “Methods and techniques of investigative journalism”. The lecture was held by Snezana Lupevska Sozen - Editor in Telma Television and author of the show for investigative journalism “Code”. Following concerning the problems and legal aspects of freedom of speech was introduced by lawyer Lazar Sandev.
On the second day, the main editor of television 24 News Mladen Cadikovski held the student’s attention with the training named: “Truth and misconceptions in journalism” while the lawyer Lazar Sandev continued with his analysis on the legal terms of freedom of speech and investigative journalism.
During the interactive training, the students had a great opportunity to get acquainted directly with the manner in which the process of investigative journalism takes place, from the selection of a subject of public interest, discovery and check of the information and their verification all the way to publishing the stories and discovering moments in the subject being explored.
