Citizens are mostly interested in the field of education, finance and social protection

On the 04/27/2017 Center for Change Management held the fifth presentation of findings from the research that examines to which extent local governments transparently publish information on their websites, as well as information that citizens would like the local governments to publish. The research findings were presented to employees form the local government in Stip.

In general web sites, municipalities and City of Skopje provide moderate transparency with minimal accountability, very limited opportunities for two-way communication and with no electronic tools for consultation with citizens.

According to the analysis that was conducted by field survey, citizens are interested the most and give priority to the information on the following fields: education, finance, social security, kindergartens and homes for the elderly, the environment and local economic development. Regarding culture, citizens equally believe that it is very important and important, while partly important are considered urban, sports, utilities, services and the municipal council.

Research is conducted within the project "Putting People First ", a project that focuses on improving the transparency of the units of local self-government through the establishment of standards for open and smart data. Hence better involving citizens and civil society organizations for monitoring the work and decision-making by the municipalities.
