“Efficiency of the state and public administration in terms of employment in the civil and public services”

On the 29 of March 2017 (Wednesday) in Hotel Aleksandar Palace “Center for Change Management (CCM)” held a national meeting titled : Efficiency of the state and public administration – aspect of employment in public services” from the project “Monitoring of Administrative Justice "supported by the British Embassy in Skopje.

The purpose of the training was  to present the project “Monitoring of Administrative Justice " as well as key findings of the conducted field survey - perception of employment in public administration.

On the event Deputy Ambassador of the United Kingdom Paul Edwards, to the Republic of Macedonia  held a speech and stated to the citizens that they must receive what they pay for.

The review of findings and information for the scale and scope of employment in the state and public administration in the Republic of Macedonia was discussed by professor Dr. Dragan Gocevski from the Faculty of Law "Justinian I" in Skopje. He noted that: “the growth of the curve in the exterior expense and the rise of the curve in the public administration overlap. Furthermore 83 percent of the budget of public health, goes solely to pay. "

The review of administrative reforms and upcoming challenges were discussed by Mr. Metodija Dimovski, covering strategies for reforms in public administration from year 1999 and 2010.

Executive Director of “Center for Change Management (CCM)” Mrs. Neda Maleski - Sacmaroska presented the findings of the field survey - perception of employment in public administration, which noted that nearly 80 percent of citizens do not approve of political employment, but if given no choice, they would accept employment with a political party card.

For the majority of citizens (68.6%) the most attractive sector to work in Macedonia remains the public sector, while the percentage of people who stated that they preferred the private sector is 22.8%.
