This feasibility study has been prepared as part of the “Cross-Border Development of Women Micro Enterprises Project” implemented under the Cross-Border Cooperation Program between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Albania for 2014 and 2015. It outlines some of the possible measures, ie solutions for job creation and policy creation for entrepreneurship and self-employment. In terms of these policies there are several key documents and strategies that support new innovative companies and the development of entrepreneurship in general, as well as support for women entrepreneurs.
The main objective of this feasibility study is to identify and review current government policies aimed at supporting entrepreneurship among women that exist at national and / or regional and local levels in each of the states and in both regions. The aim is to identify shortcomings and administrative barriers when it comes to support for women in order to encourage and improve women's entrepreneurship and the development of women-owned micro enterprises.
The ultimate goal is to see how current government policies are achievable for the long-term development of female entrepreneurship in the country and in the specific cross-border region covered by the project. Based on the situation identified, some recommendations and conclusions have been made and some new and improved measures for the sustainable development of women-owned micro-enterprises have been proposed.
