Programme goals

Effective communication is an essential component of everyday life and work, whether interpersonal, intergroup, intragroup, organizational, or communicating with external actors.

This training will expose participants to simple but still so important techniques in improving interpersonal skills.

The aim of the training is to strengthen interpersonal communication skills, related to active listening techniques, giving feedback, asking questions and providing answers, non-verbal communication, etc.

At the same time, the participants will become familiar with the rules that determine the course of communication between people and will be able to identify, eliminate or reduce the causes that lead to communication disruptions.

Contribution towards development of knowledge, skills and competences

At the end of the training the participants will:

  • Gain in-depth knowledge of communication processes (including assertive techniques and empathy)
  • Understand and will be able to apply active listening
  • Be aware of the use of different types of questions
  • Understand the importance of nonverbal communication
  • Be able to identify the factors that may be an obstacle in communication
  • Reflect on their own style of communication
  • Identify ways to improve communication skills
  • Understand and be able to apply the concept of feedback
