Analysis of micro and macro environment suitable for the civil sector

Programme goals

The program is designed for the needs of CSOs in order to acquire the necessary knowledge and tools that will serve them in the most efficient way possible to collect the necessary data, to make their selection and based on them and appropriate analysis for the assessment of micro and the macro environment in the country in which they operate. The micro-environment, as an analysis of the internal factors and the macro environment with the external factors that surround them, creates a climate suitable for the proper functioning of CSOs which, if they know it, will be able to properly direct their resources. The aim of the training is to improve and expand the knowledge and skills of the people on the boards of civil society organizations in order to be able to assess the climate in the country in order to properly use and direct the resources at their disposal. They do the analysis with the support of other sectors within their organization that need to be trained to provide the necessary data that will be reliable and accurate and that they can rely on in order to make decisions that will lead to growth and organizational development.

 

Contribution towards development of knowledge, skills and competences

At the end of the training the participants will:

  • get acquainted with the micro and macro environment as well as the differences between them
  • get acquainted with the factors that bind and affect the micro and macro environment;
  • learn to analyze micro-environmental factors such as: the clients they work with, suppliers, competitors, donors, and employees as the most important resource;
  • learn to analyze the factors that affect the macro environment such as political, social, economic, legal, technological factors and the business community as a whole;
  • master several types of strategies used in macro environment analysis such as PESTLE and SWOT analysis
  • through analysis they will learn to measure performance and set goals;
  • explain to them the need to have a strategic plan
  • present them with strategies that can only be used to promote and improve public relations (PR) through the 7Ps Strategy (7Ps Marketing Mix for NGOs) designed exclusively for CSOs.

Programme content

  • definition of what constitutes a micro and what a macro environment through examples
  • factors affecting the micro environment and their analysis
  • factors affecting the macro environment and their analysis as well as comparing it with EU countries
  • preparation of SWOT and PESTLE analysis
  • examples of what types of strategies for this type of analysis are available to us as well as what are the differences between them: PEST, SLEPT, STEEP, DESTEP and STEEPLE analysis
  • performance measurement and goal setting
  • profit-based profiting techniques by minimizing the effects of weaknesses and reducing the impact of threats
  • overcoming "critical success factor analysis"
  • analysis of the five forces or "The Five Forces" - a framework for considering the strength of five important factors that affect competition and improving market position:
  • preparation of marketing analysis for promotion of CSOs through the 7P strategy consisting of product, price, promotion, location, physical proof, process and people (7Ps Marketing Mix for NGOs)
  • the importance of having a strategic plan in the organization

Vesna Gligorova

Vesna Gligorova has obtained a master's degree in Economic Sciences (MSc), major in European studies on University „Ss Cyril and Methodius” Faculty of Economics in Skopje with title of the Master thesis “The Perspectives of the European Labor Market after the last Enlargement and the Reformed Lisbon Treaty”. Her previous educational background was also in the sphere of economy on the Faculty of Economics in Skopje on department financial management.
